Air Conditioning
Installation

Wall-mounted and multi-room systems for homes and businesses, designed by a solar installer so the cooling runs on your own electricity. One unit heats in winter and cools in summer.

The short version

A single room costs £1,200–£2,000 installed; a multi-room system £2,500–£5,000+. Every unit is a reversible heat pump, so it heats as well as cools, at roughly 3–4 kW of heat per kW of electricity. Fitted alongside solar panels, the daytime cooling runs on power you generate yourself; add a battery and the evening does too.

Prices are the installed ranges we quote against; your fixed quotation follows a free survey of the rooms, the pipe route and the outdoor unit position.

Why a solar installer fits air conditioning

Air conditioning and solar are the one pairing in home energy where the demand curve and the supply curve match: the days you most want cooling are the days the roof generates most. An air conditioning company sells you a unit; we size the array, the battery and the cooling together, so the unit is a load the system was designed to carry rather than an extra bill.

Modern inverter-driven split systems are quiet (as low as 23 dB in WindFree mode, the manufacturer's figure), run on a fraction of the power of the window boxes people remember, and reverse in winter to heat the rooms your boiler struggles with: loft conversions, conservatories, extensions and south-facing offices.

If you already have panels with us, or are planning them, read how the two work together in our guide to solar panels and air conditioning, and see the fixed-scope solar and air conditioning package in Leicester.

Systems we install

Single room (mono-split)

One indoor unit on one outdoor condenser. The right answer for a home office, a main bedroom, a loft room or a conservatory.

Cooling capacity2.5–5.0 kW
Room sizeUp to 35 sqm
Noise levelfrom around 23 dB (quiet mode)
Price installed£1,200–£2,000
Installation1 day

Multi-room (multi-split)

Two to five indoor units on one outdoor condenser, each room controlled on its own. The usual choice for a whole upstairs or a house with an extension and a conservatory.

Indoor units2–5 rooms
ControlPer room, app included
Price installed£2,500–£5,000+
Installation1–2 days

We fit inverter-driven split systems from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Samsung (including Samsung's Wind-Free range) and recommend the brand for the room and budget at the survey; we are not tied to one manufacturer.

Heating in winter from the same unit

Run in reverse, the system takes heat from the outside air and moves it indoors, even on cold days. For every 1 kW of electricity it uses it delivers around 3–4 kW of heat, so a room that is hard to heat from the radiators, a converted loft, a conservatory, an extension off the end of the heating circuit, can be warmed for a fraction of what an electric heater costs to run.

How the installation runs

1

Free survey

We measure the rooms, agree the indoor unit positions, plan the pipe route and the outdoor unit location, and look at how the system fits any solar or battery you have or are planning.

2

Design and fixed quotation

You receive one price covering the units, pipework, electrical connection, installation, commissioning and F-gas certification.

3

Installation

F-gas certified engineers fit the indoor and outdoor units, run the refrigerant pipework, make the electrical connection and commission the system. A single room is normally a one-day job.

4

Handover

We set up the controls and the app, programme your schedules, and stay on hand for adjustments.

Where we install air conditioning

We work from Leicester across Leicestershire and into the neighbouring counties, roughly 30 miles from the city. Each area page covers the local housing stock, planning points and what suits the homes there.

Air conditioning questions

Yes. Cooling demand is highest on bright, hot days, which is when a solar array generates most. A correctly sized system can run a wall-mounted unit on solar electricity through the daytime, and a battery lets you carry that into the evening. We design the panels, battery and air conditioning as one system so the cooling load is part of the sizing from the start.

A single-room wall-mounted unit typically costs between £1,200 and £2,000 installed, depending on the brand, capacity and how the pipework has to be routed. Multi-room (multi-split) systems range from £2,500 to £5,000+ depending on the number of indoor units. Our quotes include the indoor and outdoor units, pipework, electrical connection, commissioning and F-gas certification.

Yes. Every split system we install is a reversible heat pump. In heating mode it moves heat from the outside air indoors, producing roughly 3-4 kW of heat for each 1 kW of electricity used, which makes it far cheaper to run than an electric radiator for rooms the central heating does not reach well.

Most domestic installations fall under permitted development, but the outdoor condenser has to meet noise rules, and listed buildings or homes in conservation areas may need consent. We check the planning position for your address during the free survey and handle any application that is needed.

A single-room system is normally installed in one day. Multi-room systems with two to four indoor units usually take one to two days, mostly depending on the pipework route. The survey fixes the unit positions, the pipe route and the outdoor unit location before the day so the work is predictable.
